The invention discloses an aircraft landing gear shock absorber, an aircraft landing gear, an aircraft and related methods. The shock absorber comprises a stop surface (44) arranged to limit the extension of the shock absorber (6) and a corrugation element (48) configured to deform in the event that an extension load on the stop surface (44) exceeds a predetermined threshold. The corrugation element (48) may form part of an outer stop tube (46) of the shock absorber (6). The deformation of the corrugation element (48) can be identified by measuring the length of the fully extended landing gear by non-destructive testing, or by measuring a change in conductivity of the corrugation element (48).
