The hoist capable of moving a suspended weight in the vertical direction according to the present invention comprises: an operation information acquisition unit for acquiring operation information of the hoist; and a weight mass estimation unit for estimating the weight mass of the hoist from the operation information acquired by the operation information acquisition unit, the weight mass estimation unit estimating the weight mass on the basis of a weight mass estimation formula, wherein the weight mass calculation formula is obtained by learning in advance by using data which associates the operation information with the weight mass. As a result, it is possible to estimate the weight mass that can be reflected even in real-world actions that cannot be completely modeled by a model-based method, and therefore, it is possible to estimate the weight mass of the hoist with high precision.
