The invention discloses an electric vehicle charging load adjusting method, which comprises the following steps of: analyzing a demand price relationship between electric vehicle charging user power and time periods to obtain user demand price elasticity; according to user demand price elasticity, a peak-valley time-of-use electricity price strategy is adopted for electric vehicle charging users; and adjusting the charging charges in the peak and valley periods by using a peak and valley time-of-use electricity price strategy. According to the invention, the demand price relationship between the electric vehicle charging user power and the time period is analyzed to obtain the user demand price elasticity; and according to the user demand price elasticity, a peak-valley time-of-use electricity price strategy is adopted for the electric vehicle charging user, and then electricity price preferences are adopted to carry out peak clipping and valley filling on the charging load in the peak period and the valley period, so that the charging load of the power grid is ensured to be within a reasonable range, and the overall charging demand is met.
