A transport device (1) for operation on top chords of a truss of an escalator or pedestrian walkway, the transport device (1) comprising a main frame (10) wherein a left side of the main frame (10) is attached with a left roller (21) for operation on a left top chord of the truss and a right side of the main frame (10) is attached with a right roller (22) for operation on a right top chord of the truss, the front part of the main frame (10) is provided with a connecting member (15) for connecting to a rope (16) of a traction mechanism, so that the transportation device (10) runs on a truss under the traction of the traction mechanism.
