The present disclosure provides a system and method of using a window as a microphone keyboard input. Systems and methods for using a window as a microphone instead of keyless entry into a vehicle are disclosed. The system includes a window that uses a piezoelectric transducer as a microphone that captures resonance on an outer surface of a vehicle window when a pressure wave (e.g., a voice command or strike) impacts the vehicle window. To recognize this sound, a transducer controller amplifies vibrations from a window strike or spoken command. The system may include a low power mode that listens for input when the vehicle is off. In the second high power mode, the system may detect a tap event that may cause a transition to a wake-up state. The system may associate the number of taps and time with a unique user key, similar to numeric key selection on a keyboard. The system may also identify a verbal PIN code input using the piezoelectric transducer microphone.
