A sensing system of a vehicle includes wheel end sensors (WESs), each WES proximate to at least one predetermined tire and configured to sense angular data including at least one of an angular position, an angular velocity, an angular acceleration, and/or an angular displacement. A system includes a plurality of tire pressure monitoring (TPM) sensors, each TPM sensor located within one of the tires and configured to sense pressure, temperature, and angular data within the tire. The sensing system is configured to compare the angular data sensed by each WES with the angular data sensed by each TPM sensor to automatically identify a corresponding WES for each TPM sensor and to identify a position on the vehicle corresponding to the TPM sensor based on a position of the corresponding WES on a predetermined tire on the vehicle.
