A method and system for single pedal driving (OPD) control of a vehicle is provided herein. The method and system determine that regenerative braking is to be applied based on accelerator pedal travel data, predict an upcoming deceleration event based on sensor data from a vehicle sensor system to provide deceleration prediction data, adjust a default braking profile based on the deceleration prediction data, and apply regenerative braking based on the default braking profile. A regenerative braking command is generated based on the accelerator travel data and the adjusted brake profile, and is output to a motor/generator of the vehicle.
