The invention discloses a polyurethane/shear thickening gel composite material and application of the polyurethane/shear thickening gel composite material in an automobile seat, and the polyurethane/shear thickening gel composite material is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 10 to 30 percent of shear thickening gel and 70 to 90 percent of polyurethane; the polyurethane comprises a material A and a material B, and the weight ratio of the material A to the material B is 1.2-1.6. The polyurethane/shear thickening gel composite material is adopted to manufacture a buffering energy-absorbing block, the buffering energy-absorbing block is embedded into cushion foam of a seat or fixed to a cushion framework or a vehicle body metal plate, and the buffering energy-absorbing block is located in the front of a cushion. The anti-diving seat can become hard from soft when being impacted and absorb collision energy, and meanwhile the anti-diving function of the seat is achieved.
