The invention provides an abrupt slope slow descent control method and system. The method is used for carrying out abrupt slope slow descent control on a vehicle when the vehicle goes uphill and downhill, and comprises the following steps: receiving torque signals fed back from wheels of the vehicle under the condition that execution conditions of abrupt slope slow descent control are met; determining whether a difference between each torque corresponding to each torque signal is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold value; and the torque output to each wheel is controlled according to the judgment result, so that the vehicle runs at the preset target speed. According to the abrupt slope slow descent control method and system, the vehicle can directly output the torque to each wheel through the motor, the wheel torque can be fed back more quickly and more accurately in real time, and the vehicle can run at a low speed and a constant speed on the abrupt slope. In addition, according to the abrupt slope slow descent control method and system, an engine system, an ABS and an ESP system do not need to be depended on, and therefore abrupt slope slow descent control can be conducted through a simple structure.
