The present disclosure relates to an eco-friendly vehicle and a control method of the eco-friendly vehicle that optimizes a temperature of a battery of the eco-friendly vehicle that draws a vehicle to be dragged. A control method of an eco-friendly vehicle includes: measuring, by a controller, a battery temperature during traction travel in a state in which a vehicle to be towed is connected; applying, by the controller, the measured battery temperature to a predetermined function to obtain a trend of battery temperature change; predicting, by the controller, a point in time at which the temperature of the battery exceeds a predetermined reference temperature based on a trend in which the temperature of the battery changes; and starting, by the controller, cooling the battery before reaching the predicted point in time exceeding the predetermined reference temperature.
