The charging authentication method comprises the steps of when charging operation is detected, obtaining charging authentication information, wherein the charging authentication information comprises biological characteristic information of a target user and a vehicle identifier of a to-be-charged vehicle; generating authentication information according to the biological characteristic information and the vehicle identifier, and sending the authentication information to a server in communication connection with the charging pile; receiving an authentication result, wherein the authentication result is returned to the charging pile after the server performs authentication processing on the authentication information; and when it is detected that the authentication result is a first preset result, charging the to-be-charged vehicle, wherein the first preset result is used for describing authentication success. According to the charging authentication method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the charging pile charges the to-be-charged vehicle only when the biological characteristic information of the target user and the vehicle identifier of the to-be-charged vehicle are authenticated successfully, so that the safety and reliability of the charging pile are improved.
