The invention relates to an anti-overheating protection method and device for a brake resistor and a computer readable storage medium. The anti-overheating protection method comprises the steps: monitoring electrical parameters of the brake resistor, the electrical parameters comprising at least two of the voltage at the two ends of the brake resistor, the brake current flowing through the brake resistor and the brake power of the brake resistor; calculating the resistance value of the brake resistor according to the electrical parameter; determining the temperature of the brake resistor according to the resistance value; and performing anti-overheating protection on the brake resistor according to the temperature. The temperature value of the brake resistor can be monitored in real time, and proper anti-overheating protection can be provided in time before the brake resistor is damaged due to overheating, so that safe driving of a train is guaranteed.
