The invention discloses a steel rope replacement method. In the steel rope replacement method, an old steel rope is wound by utilizing a winding roller, so that the old steel rope pulls a new steel rope to be wound on a corresponding loop movable pulley, the new steel rope is wound on a new steel rope roller, and when the old steel rope pulls the new steel rope to move, the new steel rope is gradually withdrawn from the new steel rope roller. Compared with the technical scheme that old steel ropes are lifted out section by section through a crane in the prior art, the steel rope replacement method has the advantages of being simple, convenient to operate, safe, applicable, unique, capable of greatly shortening the maintenance time, capable of increasing the production time and the like. The method is suitable for replacing steel ropes with limited space and larger lengths, and can also be used for replacing main coil steel ropes of large heavy bridge cranes in the metallurgical industry.
