The invention relates to a method for determining a safety level of a target function of a vehicle (100), comprising the following steps: detecting (210) an environment (190) of the vehicle (100) and/or a status of the environment (190) by means of at least one environment sensor (110), wherein the environment sensor (110, 111, 112, 113, 114a, 114b, 115, 116, 117a, 117b or 118) generates a first sensor signal which represents the detected sub-region of the environment (190) and/or the detected status of the environment (190); detecting (220) a movement variable of the vehicle (100) by means of at least one movement sensor (120), wherein the movement sensor (120) generates a second sensor signal which represents the detected movement variable; and determining (270) the safety level of the target function of the vehicle (100) according to the generated first sensor signal and the generated second sensor signal by means of a safety system (160).
