The invention discloses an automatic safety control system for crane operation. The automatic safety control system comprises two parallel traveling crane supports, wherein a cart is slidably connected between the tops of the two traveling crane supports, and a first bar code band parallel to the traveling crane supports is arranged on the opposite side surfaces of the two traveling crane supports below the cart; a first positioning scanner matched with the first bar code band is arranged at the end, close to the first bar code band, of the cart; a trolley is slidably connected to the top of the cart, a PLC control cabinet is arranged on the trolley, and the PLC control cabinet is in circuit connection with an external safety control server; range finders are symmetrically arranged at each of the two ends of the two traveling crane supports, and optical fiber switches are arranged on the two traveling crane supports; the two range finders arranged on each traveling crane support are in circuit connection with the optical fiber switch on the same traveling crane support; and a worker in an area between the two traveling crane supports wears a range finder auxiliary table.
