The rope loosening detection and protection system for the variable-frequency travelling crane comprises a travelling crane man-machine operation screen, a travelling crane logic controller, a travelling crane lifting frequency converter and a travelling crane lifting motor, and is characterized in that the travelling crane man-machine operation screen is electrically connected with the travelling crane logic controller; the travelling crane logic controller is electrically connected with the travelling crane lifting frequency converter, the travelling crane lifting frequency converter is electrically connected with the travelling crane lifting motor, the travelling crane logic controller is used for receiving numerical values and carrying out calculation, the travelling crane lifting frequency converter is used for outputting the current numerical value of the travelling crane, and the travelling crane lifting motor is used for lifting operation; a torque protection value of rope loosening is input into the travelling crane man-machine operation screen, then a real-time torque value of the rope loosening is obtained in the travelling crane lifting frequency converter, the two values are compared in the travelling crane logic controller, if the absolute value of the real-time torque is less than the protection value, operation is stopped, and if the absolute value of the real-time torque is greater than the protection value, operation is carried out; and therefore, rope loosening detection and protection for the travelling crane are realized.
