The invention discloses a bridge area water area-oriented ship height measurement and superelevation early warning system and method. A superelevation monitoring module and a superelevation early warning module are both connected to a superelevation height measurement calculation module; the superelevation monitoring module comprises a long-and-short-focus camera array, an IP subnet and a network cloud, and the long-and-short-focus camera array is connected to the network cloud through the IP subnet; and the long-focus camera array and the short-focus camera array are respectively arranged on two banks of the river. The beneficial effects of the system and the method are that the long and short focus camera arrays are installed on both sides of the river, the long and short focus camera arrays measure the height of the passing ship, then the relevant data of the ship are calculated by the superelevation height measurement calculation module, the data are fed back to the superelevation early warning module and system management personnel, and if the measurement and calculation result shows that the passing ship is ultrahigh, the superelevation early warning module works and is used for prompting a ship cab and feeding back a related alarm signal to a system manager and a related supervision department, so that the superelevation risk when the ship passes through the bridge can be avoided.
