The invention relates to a control method of a power battery system (100) for a vehicle, the power battery system comprises at least two battery subsystems (11, 12), and the control method comprises at least the following steps: detecting a state of charge of the power battery system (100); adjusting the connection state between the at least two battery subsystems (11, 12) as a function of the state of charge, the at least two battery subsystems (11, 12) being connected in parallel when the state of charge is equal to or higher than a specified value and the at least two battery subsystems (11, 12) being connected in series when the state of charge is lower than the specified value. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program product and a corresponding power battery system. The power requirement of the vehicle can be optimally met when the state of charge is low.
