The invention discloses a fault detection method for an airplane wheel brake system. The method comprises the steps: based on an existing brake controller, a stop valve, a servo valve and a sensor of the airplane wheel brake system, judging whether a fault condition is satisfied or not through detected brake pressure, and determining whether the airplane wheel brake system fails or not, thereby achieving the purpose of fault detection of the airplane wheel brake system. Therefore, the faulty equipment is accurately located, the workload of maintenance personnel is reduced, the fault isolation rate of the airplane brake system is improved from 63% to 78%, the fault can be accurately positioned to the brake control unit, the stop valve and the servo valve, and the implementation difficulty and cost of fault detection of the airplane wheel brake system are reduced.
