The invention discloses photoelectric type underwater sand detection equipment and an obstacle removing method thereof. The photoelectric type underwater sand detection equipment comprises a fish lead and a detection cylinder. The fish lead comprises a counterweight and a guider, the guider is connected to the rear end of the counterweight, and the detection cylinder is fixedly connected to the top of the guider. The equipment comprises an intercepting net connected to the top of the counter weight, and the intercepting net is located right in front of the detection cylinder and is perpendicular to the detection cylinder; a first inner cavity is formed in the balance weight, an opening of the first inner cavity faces upwards, and a first driving mechanism is arranged in the first inner cavity. The first driving mechanism comprises a first motor, a first worm and a first turbine; the first worm is coaxially and fixedly connected with an output shaft of the first motor, the first turbine is rotationally connected into the first inner cavity through a vertical first center shaft, and the upper end of the first center shaft is fixedly connected with the intercepting net. According to the invention, the obstruction of underwater sand detection work is reduced, and the accuracy of detection data is improved.
