The invention relates to the field of elevator braking equipment, in particular to elevator safety tongs capable of achieving two-way braking and having high stability. The elevator safety tongs comprise an elevator track, a supporting and stabilizing mechanism is slidably inserted into the outer ring of the elevator track in a connected manner, and a movable contact mechanism is slidably inserted into the supporting and stabilizing mechanism. The movable contact mechanism comprises a connecting steel cable, adaptive holes, an extrusion block, a trapezoidal wedge plate, limiting grooves, auxiliary clamping devices and connecting positioning rods; the connecting steel cable is fixedly connected to the center of the top end of the extrusion block, the adaptive holes are formed in the two sides of the top end of the extrusion block, and the extrusion block is fixedly connected to the center of the top end of the trapezoidal wedge plate; and the limiting grooves are formed in the two sides of the trapezoidal wedge plate, the connecting positioning rods are fixedly connected to the centers of the bottom ends of the limiting grooves, and the auxiliary clamping devices are fixedly installed at the two ends of the connecting positioning rods. Through the arrangement of the movable contact mechanism and the supporting and stabilizing mechanism, two-way stable braking is achieved, the braking distance of an elevator is reduced, and safety is improved.
