In a method for accelerating the spaceship by shells, the time algorithm for launching a shell by an electromagnetic gun is very important. The invention provides a time algorithm for launching the electromagnetic gun, so that the electromagnetic gun can most properly launch the shell in a non-full-power stage and a full-power stage, and the launched shell not only can follow the airship at a proper time and place, but also can reduce the maximum output power of a power supply as much as possible. By means of the algorithm, the maximum output power can be low, the investment and construction cost is low, and meanwhile, the airship can be accelerated to a very high speed.
