The invention relates to the technical field of automobile control, in particular to a safety control system and control method for a four-wheel drive automobile under a high-speed working condition. The system comprises a hub motor fault judgment module used for judging whether a hub motor is in a fault state or not; a torque distribution module, used for formulating a torque distribution method for reducing the torque of the hub motor coaxial with the faulted hub motor to a set value and increasing the torque of two hub motors not coaxial with the faulted hub motor to keep the total driving force of the vehicle unchanged when the single hub motor breaks down; and a whole vehicle control module, used for obtaining the torque distribution mode transmitted by the torque distribution module to control a hub motor. The control system is simple in structure and concise and efficient in operation logic, the stability and safety of the vehicle can be maintained under the condition that a single hub motor breaks down under the high-speed running working condition of the four-hub motor vehicle, rear-end collision accidents are effectively avoided, and the control system has great popularization value.
