The invention discloses a tube plate welding cross beam and a manufacturing method thereof, and relates to the technical field of automobile parts. The method comprises the following steps that at least one of the outer circumference and the inner circumference of each end of the above tube cross beam is chamfered; and the two ends of the tube cross beam are fixedly connected with two connecting bases through friction welding correspondingly, and friction welding seams are formed in the connecting positions. According to the tube plate welding cross beam and the manufacturing method thereof, friction heat and plastic deformation heat are generated on a friction surface and an area nearby the friction surface through relative movement between the end face of the tube cross beam and the end faces of the connecting bases, under the action of upsetting pressure, generated plastic deformation and flow are combined, through molecular diffusion and recrystallization of the friction end face, the tube cross beam can be fixed to the connecting bases in a welded mode, meanwhile, chamfers are formed at the two ends of the tube cross beam, included slag generated in the friction welding process and oxide skin on the surface of a part are extruded out of the welding seams in the friction and upsetting process, so that the friction welding seams reliable in quality are obtained, and the tube plate welding cross beam high in quality is obtained.
