The invention relates to a method for controlling the charging process of an electrical energy storage device, at an electric charging device (20), wherein the charging device (20) has a temperature control system and the energy storage device has a temperature control system, including at least the following steps: transfer of electrical energy between the charging device (20) and the energy storage device (S10), transfer of thermal energy between a temperature control system of the charging device (20) and the temperature control system of the energy storage device (S20), and transmission of at least one first item of information from a computing unit (130) associated with the charging device (20) to a computing unit (140) associated with the energy storage device (S30), and/or transmission of at least one second item of information from a computing unit (140) associated with the energy storage device to a computing unit (130) associated with the charging device (20) (S40). The invention also relates to a charging device (20) for an electrical energy store.
