This travel control method is for causing a vehicle to travel along a course on which magnetic markers have been arranged, the method including: direction measurement processing (S205) for measuring a measurement direction representing the orientation of the vehicle by processing the angular velocity, which is the output of a gyrosensor; control processing (S208) for controlling the vehicle so that the measurement direction matches a target direction corresponding to the direction of the course; and correction processing (S207) for correcting the degree of control by the control processing in accordance with the amount of lateral deviation, in order to make the amount of lateral deviation of the vehicle based on the electromagnetic markers approach zero.
