The invention discloses a braking method and device of a new energy automobile, an automobile control unit and the new energy automobile, and the method comprises the following steps: acquiring the actual automobile speed and the current brake pedal opening degree of the new energy automobile; determining the current braking requirement according to the actual vehicle speed and the current brake pedal opening degree, and matching the target hydraulic braking force and the target electric braking force according to the current braking requirement; and controlling the new energy automobile to brake according to the target hydraulic braking force and the target electric braking force. Therefore, the problems that energy consumption is increased, the braking energy recovery rate is reduced, strong pause feeling is generated, the user experience is poor and the like due to the fact that hydraulic braking intervenes too early when a new energy automobile brakes in the related technology are solved.
