The purpose of the present invention is to provide a highly durable caster brake device which has a simple structure, can be reliably braked, and does not have the possibility of damaging the peripheral surface of a wheel. The caster brake device is configured such that a plurality of protrusions (19) are concentrically formed at the both side surfaces of the wheel (7) at equal intervals in the direction parallel to the axis; a lever (16) is provided on both side plates (5b, 5b) of the bracket (5) so as to straddle the wheel and face the protruding parts; a claw (16a) is formed at the tip of the lever so as to face the protruding parts, and the rotation of the wheel is locked by operating the lever and engaging the claw with a recess (19b) formed between the protruding parts.
