The invention relates to a method for detecting internal cracks of a cooling tower by using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The method comprises the unmanned aerial vehicle and an unmanned aerial vehicle auxiliary device. The camera is fixed on a light camera fixing rod piece frame, and the light camera fixing rod piece frame is connected with the rope on a control motor. The rope is contracted to be the shortest by controlling the motor, the unmanned aerial vehicle flies to the position over the cooling tower, the rope is slowly released by controlling the motor, and the camera is made to descend. And when the camera shoots that the crack exists in a suspected area, the vertical position of the camera is slowly adjusted by controlling the motor, and the angle of the camera is adjusted through the unmanned aerial vehicle to shoot the cracks in the cooling tower.
