The invention relates to the related field of elevators, and discloses a protection device for assisting in landing after a lifting rope is broken. The protection device comprises a main box body, wherein a reciprocating line wheel cavity is formed in the main box body, a reciprocating moving block cavity is formed in the lower side of the reciprocating line wheel cavity in a communicating mode, and two deceleration sliding cavities which are symmetrically arranged left and right with the reciprocating moving block cavity as the center are formed in the reciprocating moving block cavity in a left-right communicating mode. The weight is detected through a gravity detection block so that whether a lifting trigger block can be triggered or not can be achieved, the rotation condition of a reversing motor is controlled indirectly, and movement of a reciprocating lifting block and all parts in the reciprocating lifting block is completed; and when the reciprocating lifting block is broken in the moving process of a reciprocating pull rope, deceleration sliding blocks are driven to move into deceleration supporting cavities through deceleration compression springs, so that reversing friction wheels are driven to rotate on deceleration friction blocks, the purpose of slowing down the downward moving rate of the reciprocating lifting block is achieved, and the purpose of cargo protection is achieved.
