The invention discloses an edge computing device for highway traffic event monitoring, and relates to the technical field of edge computing devices. The device comprises traffic event monitoring system external field equipment, an edge computing infrastructure, an edge computing operation system unit, an edge computing application unit, a highway monitoring center unit and a power supply. The output end of the power supply is electrically connected with the input ends of the traffic event monitoring system outfield equipment, the edge computing infrastructure, the edge computing operation system unit, the edge computing application unit and the expressway monitoring center unit, and the edge computing infrastructure comprises a CPU, a GPU, a memory, a network, a power supply and distribution interface and a communication interface. According to the edge computing device for highway traffic event monitoring, part of applications can be borne on the basis of fusing system data through roadside edge computing, part of application functions of a central platform are replaced, and distributed edge computing is realized, so that the time delay is reduced, and the timeliness of the system is improved.
