The optical system comprises, in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens element with negative refractive power; a second lens element with negative refractive power having an object-side surface being convex near the optical axis and an image-side surface being concave near the optical axis; a third lens element with positive refractive power having an object-side surface being convex near the optical axis thereof; a fourth lens element with positive refractive power having an object-side surface and an image-side surface being convex near the optical axis; a fifth lens element with positive refractive power having an object-side surface and an image-side surface being convex near the optical axis; a sixth lens element with negative refractive power; the optical system also satisfies the following relation:-9.1 < f1/CT1 <-7; f1 is the effective focal length of the first lens, and CT1 is the thickness of the first lens at the optical axis. The aberration of the optical system can be well corrected, and particularly, the astigmatic aberration can be effectively inhibited, so that good imaging quality can be achieved.
