The invention discloses a method and a device for analyzing urban parking demands. The method comprises the following steps: dividing an urban parking region into a plurality of parking sub-areas in advance, presetting a data acquisition period T0 and a parking index, wherein S0 is the total number of parking spaces S0 in one parking sub-area, X0 is the number of automobiles parked in new parking spaces in the collection period T0 in the parking sub-area, G0 is the total fixed parking amount in the parking sub-area, and L0 is the number of automobiles driving away from the parking space in the parking sub-area in the collection period T0; and when R0 is larger than 1, proving that the parking space in the parking sub-area in the collection period T0 cannot meet the parking demand, and when R0 is not larger than 1, proving that the parking space in the parking sub-area in the collection period T0 meets the parking demand. Parking indexes of other parking sub-areas are calculated in the same mode, the parking demand of the whole city can be quickly and accurately mastered, when the collection period T0 is small enough, the parking demand of the whole city can be mastered in real time, and the problem of difficult parking in the city is conveniently and fundamentally solved.
