A bionic tension and compression body knee joint for a biped walking robot belongs to the technical field of mechanical bionic engineering, and consists of a bionic double-ball component of a compression body, a bionic ball socket component and a ligament component of a tension body. Six-degree-of-freedom movement similar to a human knee joint is realized by guiding and limiting joint movement through a bionic ligament; the method is suitable for the biped walking robot, and low-energy-consumption, high-stability, high-flexibility and high-anthropomorphic movement can be achieved.
