The invention belongs to the field of metallurgical transportation equipment, and particularly relates to an electric tractor which comprises a tractor body, a tractor shed, wheel sets, a cable drum, a walking transmission mechanism and a coupler, and is characterized in that the walking transmission mechanism comprises a reduction gearbox body, a motor and a coupling; an output shaft of the motor is connected with the input shaft of the reduction gearbox body through the coupling; and a first shaft, a second shaft, a third shaft and the wheel sets are arranged on the reduction gearbox body, the axes of the first shaft, the second shaft and the third shaft are perpendicular to the input shaft, the input shaft is connected with the first shaft through a bevel gear pair, the first shaft is connected with the second shaft through a first gear pair, the second shaft is connected with the third shaft through a second gear pair, and the third shaft is connected with the wheel set through a third gear pair. Compared with the prior art, the electric tractor has the advantages that the size is smaller, the cost is lower, the tractor body structure is greatly simplified, the two wheel sets are both driven by power, the traction power of the tractor is increased, and the performance of the tractor can completely meet the traction requirement of a metallurgical enterprise molten iron tank truck.
