The invention proposes a method for controlling a refrigeration cycle (12) having a compressor (13), a condenser (14), an expansion valve (15) and an evaporator (16), in which a refrigerant-oil mixture (10) flows. The method comprises the following steps: setting a target value range of an oil circulation rate OCR, determining the oil circulation rate OCR at a measurement point in the refrigeration cycle 12, checking whether the measured oil circulation rate OCR is within a target value range of the oil circulation rate OCR and changing the oil circulation rate OCR when the measured oil circulation rate OCR is not within the target value range of the oil circulation rate OCR. The invention further relates to a refrigeration cycle 12, to a thermal management system 29 and to a vehicle 21.
