The invention belongs to the technical field of aircraft icing detection, and discloses an icing detection method. The method comprises the following steps of acquiring the resonant frequency of an icing sensor; analyzing the resonant frequency of the icing sensor; acquiring icing alarm and icing rate characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle; acquiring image data of an icing thickness indicator; analyzing the ice layer visual information; acquiring icing thickness characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle; and the icing condition of the unmanned aerial vehicle being obtained by integrating the icing rate and the icing thickness information. The detection method is simple and reliable in structure, the icing strength information and the icing degree information can be given, so icing detection accuracy and comprehensiveness are remarkably improved, and the surface icing condition of the unmanned aerial vehicle can be visually observed through visual signal pickup.
