The invention provides a heavy object underwater salvaging device. A crane on a salvaging ship is connected to a grab bucket through a salvaging rope, and the grab bucket comprises a pair of bucket-shaped jaw plates, a base used as a bucket-shaped jaw plate carrier and a hydraulic mechanism used for adjusting the closing degree of the bucket-shaped jaw plates; the two bucket-shaped jaw plates aresymmetrically distributed and installed on the base in a crossed mode, and each bucket-shaped jaw plate is movably installed on the base in a rotating shaft mode with the gravity center deviating to the bucket tooth end in the normal state, so that the two grab buckets are hinged to the bucket tooth end under the self-weight in the normal state; the salvage rope is branched at the head end and thebranches are connected to the ends, away from the bucket teeth, of the bucket-shaped jaw plates; the hydraulic mechanisms are arranged on the two sides of the base respectively, wherein one ends of the hydraulic mechanisms are hinged to the base, and the other ends are hinged to the ends, away from the bucket teeth, of the bucket-shaped jaw plates; and therefore, the clamping force of the grab bucket comes from the gravity of the grab bucket and the gravity of salvaged objects, energy consumption is reduced, time and labor are saved, the salvage efficiency is high, and good stability is achieved.
