The present invention provides an engine control device for an electric vehicle capable of simultaneously reducing the number of particles of particulate matter and reducing NV. An electric vehicle isprovided with: a rotating electric machine that generates a driving force for driving wheels; a power storage device that stores electric power supplied to the rotating electric machine; a power generator that generates power for charging the power storage device; and an engine that generates a driving force for driving the generator. The engine control device for the electric vehicle is providedwith an engine control unit, and the engine control unit determines the rotating speed and the torque of the engine and controls the engine. Thus, the number of particles of the particulate matter per unit amount of gas discharged from the engine to the atmosphere is equal to or less than a target value. When the vehicle speed is less than a threshold value, the engine speed is set to a lower speed than when the vehicle speed is greater than or equal to the threshold value, and the target value is a value set in accordance with a warm-up state of the engine, an engine speed, and an engine torque.

    本发明提供一种能够同时实现减少颗粒状物质的颗粒数和低NV化的电动车辆的发动机控制装置。电动车辆具备:旋转电机,所述旋转电机产生驱动车轮的驱动力;蓄电装置,所述蓄电装置蓄积向旋转电机供给的电力;发电机,所述发电机产生对蓄电装置进行充电的电力;以及发动机,所述发动机产生驱动发电机的驱动力,所述电动车辆的发动机控制装置具备发动机控制单元,所述发动机控制单元决定发动机转速和发动机转矩并控制发动机,从而使从发动机向大气中排放的每单位气体量的颗粒状物质的颗粒数成为目标值以下,并且在车速小于阈值时,与车速为阈值以上时相比,使发动机转速成为低转速,所述目标值是与发动机的预热状态、发动机转速以及发动机转矩建立对应而设定的值。
