The wear detection structure comprises a driving chain wheel, a brake pressing plate, a friction plate, a wear detection assembly and a signal transmission assembly, wherein the brake pressing plate is connected with the driving chain wheel and can move close to the driving chain wheel, the friction plate isarranged between the driving chain wheel and the brake pressing plate in an abutting manner, the wear detection assembly is arranged on the brake pressing plate and is spaced from the driving chain wheel to form a detection gap, and the signal transmission assembly is electrically connected with the wear detection assembly and used for being electrically connected with a control cabinet. According to the scheme, when the wear detection structure works, the brake pressing plate presses and fixes the friction plate on the driving chain wheel, the friction plate can enable the driving chain wheel to stop rotating in time by means of friction resistance, and the escalator or the moving sidewalk also has reliable emergency stop capacity.
