The invention discloses a non-contact pedestrian crossing control system and method applied to an intersection. The non-contact pedestrian crossing control system comprises a front-end detector, a rear-end detector, a traffic signal controller, a pedestrian prompt module, a signal center system, a signal lamp and countdown, according to the invention, the front-end detector and the rear-end detector are combined to acquire the states of the pedestrians crossing the street in real time, the pedestrian release requirements in four directions of the intersection can be met, and the human-computerinteraction module is used for carrying out safety early warning on the pedestrians crossing the street.
