The present invention provides a desulfurization device for a ship and a ship having excellent disposition properties when disposed on a ship such as an ultra-large ship. The desulfurization device for a ship is provided with: an absorption tower including an absorption tower main body part defining an internal space and having an exhaust gas introduction port communicating with the internal space, and an exhaust gas introduction part connected to the exhaust gas introduction port; and an exhaust gas cooling device capable of distributing cooling water to the exhaust gas introduced into the exhaust gas introduction unit and before the exhaust gas is introduced into the internal space. The exhaust gas introduction section has an inclined section extending obliquely upward from the exhaust gas introduction port of the absorption tower main body section, and a vertical section extending upward in the vertical direction from the end of the inclined section and configured so that the exhaust gas flows downward from above. The exhaust gas cooling device is provided with a cooling water nozzle that is disposed on the vertical section and is configured so as to discharge the cooling watertoward the upstream side in the flow direction of the exhaust gas.
