The invention discloses a monitoring method for single-point or single-side hooking of container through lifting appliance or container carried by lifting appliance during container lifting. A gantrycrane is included, the lifting appliance is arranged on the gantry crane, four spin locks are arranged on the lower surface of the lifting appliance, an angle sensor is arranged on the upper surface of a lifting appliance or a lifting appliance upper frame, and the angle sensor is connected with a controller. The controller is connected with a driving device for controlling the gantry crane. The angle sensor detects the angle of the lifting appliance or the lifting appliance upper frame and judges whether the lifting appliance conducts single-point or single-side hooking on the container belowthe lifting appliance or not or whether the container grabbed by the lifting appliance conducts single-point or single-side hooking on the container piled on the ground or not. The sensor is adoptedfor detection, so that it is sufficiently guaranteed that the gantry crane can stop working and give an alarm in the hoisting process of the gantry crane even if the lifting appliance is hooked with the container below the lifting appliance in a single-point or single-side mode or the container grabbed by the lifting appliance is hooked with the ground stockpiling container in a single-point or single-side mode, and an accident of smashing the ground stockpiling container or hooking an adjacent column-position container is avoided.
