The invention provides a water channel type traction power system, and relates to the technical field of traction power devices. The water channel type traction power system comprises two sinking traction ropes arranged in a water channel in parallel, a water surface area between the two sinking traction ropes forms a driving area, the two sinking traction ropes can swing bidirectionally along theextending direction of the water channel, each sinking traction rope is provided with a ship moving in the extending direction of the sinking traction rope. The problems that in the traditional technology, the influence of water flow exists, the ship running speed is unstable, and the transportation stability is influenced; an engine is used for providing power, so that the energy consumption isimproved, and the air pollution is increased; and accessories such as building hard tracks are needed, so that the disassembly and assembly are inconvenient, and the production cost is increased are solved.
