The invention discloses an automatic early warning prompting method for severe weather on a highway based on sensor detection. A data processing module collects data transmitted by a control center, adisplay module displays received real-time data of a meteorological department, a vehicle distance radar detection module detects the vehicle distance between two vehicles, a vehicle speed detectionunit detects the vehicle speed of a vehicle in driving and records vehicles whose vehicle speed exceeds the standard or does not reach a specified range on the highway, and an early warning promptingmodule carries out voice early warning prompting on a vehicle whose vehicle distance between the two vehicles is small and vehicles whose vehicle speed is not within the specified range in the drivingprocess. The automatic early warning prompting method for severe weather on the highway based on sensor detection can timely prompt drivers on the highway in sudden severe weather conditions, and cangive corresponding warning for the distance between the two vehicles and the vehicle speed in severe weather.
