The invention discloses a photovoltaic standby power supply system for an aquafarm, and the system comprises an energy consumption end for consuming electric quantity, a culture pond for culturing aquatic products, a floating solar power station for generating power by utilizing solar energy, an energy storage station for storing electric energy and a central control unit, wherein the electric energy output end of the floating solar power station is connected with the energy consumption end and the energy storage station electric energy input end, the energy storage station electric energy output end is connected with the energy consumption end, and the floating solar power station is arranged in the culture pond. The invention further discloses a working method of the photovoltaic standbypower supply system for the aquaculture farm. The central control unit controls the retracting and releasing mechanism to retract the connecting cable by detecting the water level and the wind speed,and the controller controls the buoyancy air bag to be inflated and deflated according to the change of the sun angle, so that the solar cell panel is always perpendicular to the sunlight. Accordingto the photovoltaic standby power supply system for the aquaculture farm and the working method, the power supply cost of the aquaculture pond is low, and the water surface illumination utilization rate of the aquaculture pond is high.
