The invention aims to disclose a radiation protection structure for a spent fuel transport ship. The radiation protection structure comprises a cargo compartment area, wherein the cargo compartment area is at least provided with a cargo compartment capable of carrying one or more spent fuel cargo bags; shielding bodies are arranged at a cargo compartment cover, a prow transverse bulkhead, a close-to-stern transverse bulkhead and bulkheads on the two sides of the cargo compartment, and the shielding bodies are formed by combining one or more shielding materials selected from the group consisting of steel, concrete, polyethylene and fresh water in a layered mode. Compared with the prior art, the neutron-gamma ray composite shielding bodies are arranged in key areas of the cargo compartment,so comprehensive shielding of neutrons and gamma rays released by spent fuels is realized, the probability that radioactive particles penetrate out of the cargo compartment is reduced, the irradiationlevel of other areas of a ship outside the cargo compartment is reduced, and therefore, a irradiation dose received by crews in the transportation process of the spent fuels is reduced; and the shielding material is mature and economical, the weight of the shielding bodies is low, comprehensive neutron-gamma ray shielding effect is good, and the purpose of the invention is achieved.
本发明的目的在于公开一种乏燃料运输船舶辐射防护结构,它包括货舱区域,货舱区域至少具有一个可载运1个或多个乏燃料货包的货舱,货舱的货舱舱盖、船首横舱壁、货舱靠近船尾横舱壁及货舱两侧舱壁设置有屏蔽体,所述屏蔽体由钢、混凝土、聚乙烯和淡水中一种或几种屏蔽材料分层式组合而成;与现有技术相比,通过在货舱关键区域设置中子和γ射线组合材料屏蔽体,实现了对乏燃料释放出中子和γ射线的综合屏蔽,降低了放射性粒子穿出货舱的概率,降低了货舱外船舶其他区域辐照水平,从而降低船员在乏燃料运输过程中接受的辐照剂量,具有屏蔽材料成熟经济、屏蔽体重量轻、中子和γ射线综合屏蔽效果好的特点,实现本发明的目的。
