A host vehicle information acquisition unit (102) acquires host vehicle information representing an indication of a change in course that a vehicle will carry out and a direction of advance in which the vehicle will travel in accordance with this change in course. An approaching object information acquisition unit (103) acquires approaching object information about approaching objects approachingthe vehicle in a predetermined range around the vehicle. An effective field of view determination unit (105) determines an effective field of view for the driver of the vehicle. On the basis of the host vehicle information and the approaching object information, an object specification unit (104) specifies, among the approaching objects approaching the vehicle, an approaching object that is approaching from the opposite direction to the direction of advance in which the vehicle will travel, and sets the specified approaching object as an object of interest. When the vehicle carries out the change in course on the basis of the host vehicle information, the vehicle display device (108) generates display information for displaying information about the object of interest specified by the object specification unit (104) in the effective field of view of the driver as determined by the effective field of view determination unit (105).
