The invention relates to the field of collision prevention of vehicles, in particular to a braking strategy in the presence of a collision risk. Specifically, the present invention provides an underbody field-of-view-based brake assist system (10) for a vehicle, and the brake assist system comprises a detection unit configured to be capable of detecting underbody field-of-view information of the vehicle; an analysis unit which is configured to analyze the detected vehicle bottom visual field information and judge whether a collision risk exists or not according to an analysis result; and a control unit configured to trigger one or more emergency measures when there is a risk of collision. The invention further relates to a corresponding vehicle and to an underbody-view-based brake assistance method for a vehicle. Starting from the view angle of the bottom of the vehicle body, the invention solves problems that an existing camera is too small in view field and poor in pre-judgment accuracy.
