The invention discloses a manufacturing process for an automobile aluminum-alloy wheel decorative cover with a small diameter less than 6 inches. The manufacturing process comprises the following steps of I, sawing an aluminum bar with an ordinary sawing machine to obtain a bar blank; II, heating the bar blank to obtain a preheated bar blank; III, preheating a stamping die, and then stamping the preheated bar blank on a punching machine with the preheated stamping die to obtain a decorative cover stamping part; IV, machining the front and back sides of the punch-formed decorative cover stamping part as well as a groove matched with a wheel to sizes as required by a drawing with a numerically controlled lathe, and reserving a small fine machining allowance to obtain a decorative cover machined part; and V, performing surface cleaning and painting, surface lathing and celluloid paint spraying on the decorative cover machined part to obtain an aluminum alloy wheel decorative cover finished product. Through adoption of the manufacturing process, the material utilization rate can be increased effectively; the material loss is reduced; the machining time is saved at the same time; the production efficiency is improved; and the product is dense and uniform in surface and stable in quality.
